How booking works
Booking SQE1 has three steps, each with its own window. First, a seat reservation form, sent only to candidates who have registered, verified their ID and completed the pre-booking questions, including the one on reasonable adjustments. Second, once the forms are processed, a request for payment, which cancels the seat if it is not paid within 48 hours. Third, a short window to reschedule, which is also when any remaining seats can be booked directly. The SRA recommends the reservation form over waiting for remaining seats. The dates for each step are in the planner above, taken from the SRA's booking pages.
How the weeks before a sitting are usually spent
The dates marked as ours in the planner above follow the same phases as the study plan in the platform. Until about seven weeks out the work is learning and subject practice. From then, practice moves to mixed subjects under time. The final fortnight is full mocks and a review of mistakes, with no new topics.
After the exam
Results for FLK1 and FLK2 are released together, as a scaled score for each out of 500 with a pass mark of 300 on each. A candidate who passes one and fails the other resits only the one they failed.
Questions candidates ask
The next sitting is January 2027, with FLK1 on one day between 11 and 15 January and FLK2 on one day between 18 and 22 January 2027. The SRA publishes two sittings a year, in January and July.

Three attempts are allowed within six years. FLK1 and FLK2 are taken in the same window, except when resitting the one that was failed.
